Whether you’re looking to spruce up the exterior or renovate your property as a whole, there are programs to help upgrade your property. 

Applications will be available starting August 2, 2021 and due by September 10, 2021

Commercial Site Improvement Grant provides a reimbursable grant of up to $20,000 to commercial property owners that upgrade their building facades, lighting, loading and service areas and other features of their sites visible from the public right-of-way. To receive the full award from the City, eligible project costs must exceed $40,000. 

NOTE: The application will be ONLINE only. Paper applications will not be accepted.

Required documents:

  1. Completed online application form, including signed affidavit from property owner (if applicable)
  2. Detailed cost estimates of work by input (labor, materials, etc) and project component (signage, landscaping, painting, carpentry, etc)
  3. Summary budget of cost estimates tied to each project component described above
  4. Copy of current business tax certificate
  5. Confirmation that mortgage, property insurance and property tax payments are current and in good standing
  6. Documentation of property ownership or written consent from property owner giving permission to conduct the identified improvements.
  7. Legal description and survey of project site
  8. Digital photographs of existing conditions of the project site
  9. Use must be consistent with the City’s land development regulations
  10. Written description of project improvements
  11. Sketches or conceptual drawings of improvements that will be funded by the Grant.

Commercial Building Interior and Tenant Improvement Grant provides a reimbursable grant of up to $20,000 for interior upgrades to commercial properties with a focus on projects that remedy degraded building systems and extend the economic viability of the building. To receive the full award from the City, eligible project costs must exceed $40,000.

HOW TO APPLY

Step 1: Attend CRA Grant Webinar (required pre-requisite to apply)
Note: Full webinar must be attended and the follow-up survey must be submitted to receive credit

Step 2: Fill out online application that will be available on this page starting August 2, 2021  

Step 3: Submit a completed online application with all required attachments by 5 p.m. on September 10th, 2021

Step 4:  Pay $35 nonrefundable application fee by check or money order, (Make payable to: “City of St. Petersburg”) and send to:
