GH: Tell us a little about yourself and your business.
CTW: I’m Coach Tii Wood, a New York native now thriving in sunny St. Pete. With 14 years of Army experience and a B.S. in Exercise Science, plus certifications in CrossFit and NASM CPT and CNC, I’m all about making fitness fun, consistent, and judgment-free. Whether you’re looking for 1-on-1 training, corporate group sessions, or a personalized workout plan, I’m here to help you crush your goals and enjoy every step of the journey!
GH: What Inspired you to start your business?
CTW: I started Burg Body Fitness to build a welcoming community where everyone can feel strong, confident, and totally comfortable in their naked body! I desire to help people feel empowered and confident, so they can achieve their goals both physically and mentally.
GH: Why do you think National Black Business Month is important?
CTW: National Black Business Month is deeply important because it offers a powerful reminder to new generations of diverse creatives and leaders: when they embrace their true selves, they can build something truly meaningful. This celebration of authenticity not only empowers them to follow their passions but also shows them their unique contributions can spark a ripple effect, inspiring change and making a lasting impact on the world. Seeing these role models succeed helps them believe in their own potential to create something extraordinary.
GH: What advice would you give to others who are looking to start or grow their business?
CTW: Starting a new business can be nerve-racking, but if you’re passionate about serving others in a unique way and you find yourself daydreaming about it, then it’s worth taking the leap. The excitement of pursuing something you love outweighs the fear, and while making money is a nice perk, the real reward comes from doing what you’re passionate about and making a difference in people’s lives.
GH: Please describe your experience with working with us at The Greenhouse. Would you recommend us to others?
CTW: The Greenhouse St. Pete has been a game-changer for my business. Along with their Entrepreneurial Academy, which was amazing, they hooked me up with incredible resources, including a free mentor who helped me fine-tune my ideas and get my product consistent. Their support has made all the difference in helping me grow my business into something I’m proud of and I 100% DO recommend them to any other entrepreneurs I meet in my day to day.
GH: What are your future goals/plans for your business?
CTW: Looking ahead, I’m excited to win the Best Personal Trainer nomination in the Best of the Bay awards and to expand my business online, reaching more people with fun fitness options. I also plan to continue partnering with the city to offer fitness programs in St. Pete’s stunning parks, making wellness accessible and enjoyable for everyone in our community.
