Meet Dr. Kim Kuhn, DTCM, owner of Elevate Wellness:

GH: Tell us a little about yourself & your business.

DKK: I am a doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine and an Acupuncture Physician. I’m the founder and owner of Elevate Wellness, an acupuncture and holistic health clinic. We specialize in orthopedics, sports medicine, and pain management well as reproductive medicine and many other conditions. We provide integrative and holistic medicine for people looking for holistic alternatives to health care using acupuncture, dry needling, cupping, Gua Sha, herbal medicine, and many other treatment modalities.

GH: What inspired you to start your business/ what is your “why”?

DKK: I am an entrepreneur at heart and wanted to create a clinic where patients could come in, feel heard, and are offered solutions and treatments that truly make a difference in their quality of life. I had a vision of what health care could look like and have brought that to fruition. My patients that come in feeling like they are at home as soon as they walk in the door and leave feeling like we have truly created change.

GH: What advice would you give to others looking to start/grow their business?

DKK: I would encourage people to take the risk and start. There are so many opportunities to receive the support needed to start and grow your business if you’re willing to take the steps to start. The Greenhouse is an incredible resource that we have in St. Pete and they are playing a huge role in helping to elevate my business to the next level. I also think that connecting with other entrepreneurs can be a game changer. We can all learn from each other and help one another along the way. St Pete is a community that is built on small business, and we can all support each other as we are the foundation of this incredible community.

GH: How can the community support you and your business?

DKK: I would love for Elevate Wellness to be the go to acupuncture clinic for our community. If you don’t know much about acupuncture, call or come in. We would love to share with you what acupuncture can do for you and your loved ones. also think the more Western Medicine doctors see that we can be a part of an integrative team, we can help our community get better and feel their best even quicker.

GH: What does Pride month mean to you?

DKK: Pride month is important on so many levels for me personally and for our community. Celebrating diversity is so critical for the health and wellbeing of many people. It’s a time for our community to feel seen and celebrated. When you look at the history that led pride month to even be, you can see how far we have come and how much further we must go. It’s truly about social justice and having every person and every life matter. The LGBTQ+ community needs to know and feel like they are loved, celebrated and that their presence in this world matters!
