Fighting Chance Fund Changes Announced

On Tuesday, June 9, Mayor Rick Kriseman announced upcoming changes to the St. Petersburg Fighting Change Fund. 

Expanded Eligibility Coming June 23

The current round of applications for Fighting Chance Fund will be available until Tuesday, June 16. If you are currently working on an application, please have the completed application submitted before this date. The Individual Program will no longer be available after June 16.

Applications will be temporarily unavailable between June 16 – June 22. 

New applications with program changes will be available starting on Tuesday, June 23. 

If your business was not approved for funding in a previous round and will now become eligible under new Round 3 changes, you must submit a new application under Round 3.   

A business that was previously approved for funding under the Fighting Chance Program is not eligible to apply in Round 3.

Brick & Mortar Physical Locations
Grant award: $4,000
Open to any industry classification 

Independently owned and operated small business (non-franchise or chain affiliation):
50 employees or under – this will be calculated as total employee count including both full time and part time 

Independently owned franchise affiliated small business:
25 employees or under – this will be calculated as total employee count including both full time and part time
The  franchise entity must have 50 or fewer outlets throughout the country 

Home Based Businesses
Grant award: $2,000
Open to any industry classification 

Must meet minimum threshold of $17,000 in gross annual revenue from business operations (i.e. must demonstrate significant source of household income)
